Avatara Apollyon, the companion that has been with Artam the longest, a personal friend and confidant to the Living Fulcrum. Aside for serving as the Fulcrums most trusted adviser, Apoyllon has gained the nickname of the Faceless One, or the Shadow of the Fulcrum. Rarely seen in public, Apollyon has a reclusive, almost hermit like, reputation, prefering to direct Fulcrum affairs behind the scenes.
Before becoming joining Artam and becoming a Avatara, Apolloyn is said to have been a entertainer, poet, writer and casanova, living a debauched lifestyle of fame, foppery and whim as was the expectation of Siol society at the time. As a Shaper, Apollyon wanted for nothing and achieved wealth and fame as a skilled mind mender, but where self-promotion and celebrity outpaced accomplishments. Apollyon quietly grew disatisfied. Cited as ”Living for myself, striving for nothing, a hundred years wasted”, Apollyon gradually grew dejected and disgusted by the decadent lifestyle and what was at the time seen as a society in decline, and the born-again Apollyon would become the leader of one of many movements against the old Siol. One can only speculate if it was Artam that influenced Apollyons change of heart, or the other way around. What we do know is that they met in secret in the Gardens of Sodom, a popular retreat at the time. At first only the three of them, but over several years, developing the ideas that would become the Fulcrum Logos, and eventually introduced the other Shapers that would form the Avatara.
Apollyon is not known for any direct military achievements nor combat ability and has a reputation of being the weakest Shaper of the Avatara. However, Apollyon is the most able Pure Shaper, rivaled only by a few of the non-human Shapers, and has a uncanny reputation for winning without fighting. Preferring to direct affairs through influence and schemes rather than brawn or direct confrontation, the Avatara intervenes in person only when absolutely necessary. Of the Avatara, the Siol fears no Avatara as much as Apollyon, aside for perhaps Ishtar and Chidriel.
Apollyon holds the official post of minister of state and has one of three seats of the military tribune that directs the Fulcrum armed forces high command. Entrusted to direct the civilian and military matters in balance, and counter the influence of the two most powerful Fulcrum military leaders; Avatara Indram, the supreme commander and minister of War, and Avatara Boman, commander-in-chief of the Fulcrum navy. In this role, Apollyon often has to rely on other Avatara, such as Ishtar, commander of the Mataim Corps and Chidriel, minister of research.
Since joining with Artam, Apollyons ability as a mind mender has grown immensely, and over millennia have learned many secret ways to move lesser minds. Capable of the secret Pure Shaper Forms of Transference, Dream Delving, Mind Thorns and Mental Molding, abilities learned from much time spent deep within the Void and Tiamik the Closed Orb. Searching for lost knowledge and yearning for any potential way to break the stalemate between the Siol and the Fulcrum, As a result, Apollyon no longer possess, or is bound to, a fully human form. Existing instead in a state akin to the Firmament between the Void and our reality.
Apollyon can be recognized by the blue brass bell chime, and the symbol of the Faceless moon. Preferring to travel incognito, with no military guard, he is always accompanied by three bound Raksham in disguise: Guilty Wire, Puppet Master and the Hanged Man.
